Well there we go....
If you look down to the right of my blog thou may spyest the NaNoWriMo ***\WINNER/*** icon, which despite some fairly ropey artwork, has been the bane of my mental life for the first part of November...but is now over, with a total word count of 101 thousand, which is nice.

Got launchcast going in the background which is cool, I had forgotten all about it, although it seems unwilling to let me rate anything, which is bizarre, but the music is there which is good.

Got to go, things to do..hehehehe

HUMAN VIRUS TEST
Human Virus Scanner

The virus that have infected you will be show here along with thier cures, if known.
Viruses you suffer from:

Pokemon
Pikachu! Use your hyper-electric-get-a-life move now!

Junkfood
Eat some real food. Something which you can identify the source of every ingredient, not the point of manufacture.

BBCB
CTRL-Break, and get a real computer. Repeat: "Mode 7 was not a good thing."

Sci-fi
Stop wearing the stick-on ears.

Politics
Stop caring!

Brand Names
Having a well-known name doesn't make it good.

Computer Games
Stop staring at the screen and get some fresh air. You should see a doctor about the RSI in your thumbs.

Conspiracy Theory
Face it, the elected government is in control. Actually that's quite scary.

Environmentalism
Consume more stuff! It's easier to buy new stuff than to recycle.

Viruses you might suffer from:

USA (70%)
Rule, Britannia! Britannia rule the waves! [repeat]

Gaming (70%)
Life is not a game. Roll 3D6. On a 4 or more go out and do something with your life.

Religion (90%)
Read "God's Debris" by Scott Adams (yes, the Dilbert guy)

8-Bit (70%)
Polygons, all the polygons you can get are not enough.

Japan (90%)
Big is good. Small is bad. Giant robots would not make a good last line of defence for Earth.

Discordia (90%)
Buy a suit. Invest your money. Eat hotdog buns on a friday.

Free BSD (90%)
The GPL isn't that bad really. Adopt a penguin at the zoo.

Hippyism (78%)
Free love is passe and potentially dangerous, and patchouli smells like cat piss.

Macintosh (80%)
Use a mouse with more than one button.

Prog Rock (60%)
Long hair looks dumb with a bald spot. Listen to CD's they don't crackle.

Southampton (69%)
Move to the Isle of Wight.

My Novel is finished...I'M FREE I'M FREE I'M
starting another one.....

I have finished (last night hence the post about the cigar) Legionnaire, my novel, which now allows me to share my guilty secret, which will mean nothing to anyone who isn't a Nano'er visiting this site from my profile link.

My word count during November clocked in at 79654, didn't quite hit 80k, but 4425.2 recurring words per day I feel faily proud of it. The awful sordid truth of the matter is that I had 20 thousand odd words written before I started, but WAIT, that doesn't mean that I have only written 50k words this November, it means that my whole novel, from beginning to end clocks in at 101095 words.....bwah ha ha ha ha

So I'm more than usually pleased with myself...I'm going to have a rest and then see if I can't rewrite a novella I wrote a while ago into a prequel of sorts...

This is a link to my profile page, where you can read about two sentences of the original work, because I am unrealistic enough to believe that it may be publishable, so I am not posting it online anywhere.

Now I must go and have a look at the first draft of The Aura of the Sea, which is the novella I will play with till the end of November, and perhaps beyond....

As if you care.......

Twelve days in...
and my computer is working (kind of) again.

I hit 50 000 words yesterday, of not execrable quality, and have at least another 22k to go before I finish the plotline I have sketched out. That will take me to a grand total of over 70000 words written within the bounds of November (providing I do them during November) which is pretty good for my first Nano.

I have signed up for Zokutuo, a Londaon based writers forum, and want to go along to a Nano meeting but am feeling guilty because of my success, and because I was accused of gloating on the message boards the other day, which I feel was harsh and a little unfair, but was redeemed by someone being horrified that I had managed 50000 words in eleven days while still having a job, which made me feel better, a little smug, but certainly better.

I am feeling tired but fulfilled, which is a nice way to feel, and as long as I finish Legionnaire I will feel that i have done something productive with my year. It has also given me a formula which I can follow to allow be to write other long pieces of work.

Woo hoo for Nano - watch for my icon....heheh

Ah well, you know what they say...
Nobody likes a quitter

and obviously the great american public can spot a quitter a mile off. You have to give W that, he isn't a quitter.

The fact that we'd quite like him to quit is beside the point.

Ah well - four more years of family planning clinics collapsing in africa, aids spreading more quickly than ever and dozens of aids babies being born every day.

four more years of denial about global warming - Kyoto = some kind of sushi don't it W?

four more years of terror - did I miss out some words like "the", "war" and "on" ummm...no, not unintentionally anyway.

On the plus side, Jim Henson has another four year contract, and we cannot disputificate the sheer pleasuration of listenificatifying to the American Head of State pontificatificatorizifying about the bad people out there in the world.

Well I hate to say it, but when you either with them or against them....you're fucked.

Lets hope we get a politician with balls who can stand up to Mr Bush and say "No. Don't shaft me in the ass again." Thing is - you have to wonder why Cherie is so jealous of W - it is because of his and Tony's "special relationship"
